Breeding Fell Ponies – the Challenges of Establishing a Hill Herd
Libby Robinson, chairperson of the FPHT, bought her first fell pony in 1979 and they have been an important part of her life ever since. For 50 years she has worked with them on farms, running courses and teaching carriage driving. She lived in France for 19 years where she bred Fell Ponies and only returned to Tebay with her ponies in 2018. Libby works with the Fell Pony Heritage Trust based in Tebay, providing information about the native pony of the Cumbrian Fells. Talk will include a 10 minute award winning film – “Tails of Cumbrian Heritage” created by Abby Wilkinson and Georgia Costin.
Forty Farms Fair
The FPHT stand will be at the Forty Farms Fair at the Rheged, find us indoors. Selling merchandise and offering information about the hill bred Fell Pony.

Fading Hoofprints - Book Launch & Documentary on the Fell Pony
The FPHT is proud to be hosting the screening of the Fell Pony Documentary, Episode 5, at the Rheged Centre in their Screen 2 cinema at 11am.
The accompanying Fading Hoofprints book for you to see and purchase at the event on the 12 April 2025.

Ecology, Conservation and Environment Fair 2025
The FPHT are delighted to have been asked to attend The Ecology, Conservation and Environment Fair is open to University of Exeter and Falmouth University students of all years and disciplines.
Here you can meet and talk with employers about placements opportunities, internship programmes, placements, and graduate careers.
The fair will be held in The Sports Hall and we'll be welcoming employers from a range of sectors all of whom are looking to connect with students from a broad range of disciplines, but focusing predominantly on ecology, conservation, environmental and marine science courses.
